Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. 1Timothy 4:1-3_
Every false prophet aims to make people depart from the faith. This simply means, after listening to a false prophet; you’ll become anxious about the people around you, develop fear for demons and you’ll be made to bear heavy burdens in the name of divine commands.
They preach that people are wicked and they should be avoided, they exalt the power of demons and witchcraft in their sermons and they tell you to do things too heavy for you to do.
If anyone teaches another doctrine and disagrees with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and with godly teaching he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, and constant friction between men of depraved mind who are devoid of the truth. These men regard godliness as a means of gain. 1 Tim. 6:3-5
False preachers are proud, hypocrites, liars and always arguing with God’s word as though they know the word.
When you listen to them you’ll notice the following attitudes in you: envy, strife (quarrelling with people), abusive talks, evil suspicion (always suspecting people of evil because of the prophecy they gave you), and they’ll hold you in financial bondage.
i. God will deny them on the last day for diverting people from the faith (Matt. 7:22-23).
ii. They will bring swift destructions upon themselves for teaching destructive heresies and exploiting naïve people who only wanted to serve God (2 Pet. 2:1-3). God won’t allow them to live long so that they won’t deceive many more people; this is why every false prophet dies prematurely.
iii. God will put the devil, the antichrist and false prophets in the same portion in the lake of fire where they’ll be tormented day and night with the exact torment meant for the devil (Rev. 20:10).
With this kind of punishments, it’s easy to note that teaching falsehood is the greatest sin on earth.
