Sport: Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez announce baby daughter’s adorable name

Georgina Rodriguez has confirmed the name of their daughter after Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner tragically lost the baby’s twin brother.

Bella Esmeralda was born on April 18, after the couple announced the tragic news of their infant son’s death. Ronaldo had been expecting twins with his partner but they sadly lost their son. His daughter did arrive safely though and was recently able to return to Ronaldo’s home with the rest of his family.

The Manchester United star has shared an image on Instagram earlier this month, cradling his daughter. The black and white picture shows a topless Ronaldo sitting on a sofa with his baby, with the post captioned: “Forever Love…” along with a heart and a prayer emoji.

The baby was able to return home with her family, with Ronaldo releasing a picture of her with his family. In posting that picture, Ronaldo also gave his thanks to the fans who had sent messages of support.

“Home sweet home. Gio and our baby girl are finally together with us. We want to thank everyone for all the kind words and gestures. Your support is very important and we all felt the love and respect that you have for our family. Now it’s time to be grateful for the life that we’ve just welcomed into this world,” he said.
